Slovenian Presidency releases its work program detailing its priorities

On 1 July, the Slovenian Delegation published their six- month work program for the Council presidency. The program details Slovenia's main priorities and guidelines for its activities during the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU from 1 July to 31 December 2021. The program includes the following key points:

  • Artificial intelligence, data and the roaming regulation files

  • Cyber-security, particularly concerning the western Balkan states

  • Reaching a common agreement in Council on the Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act

  • Several key technology conferences will take place in September

  • Senior and expert officials have been placed in leadership roles in the COMPET Council

The priorities for the Slovenian Presidency are set out in four chapters:

  1. The resilience and recovery of the European Union. A strategically autonomous European Union

  2. The Conference on the Future of Europe

  3. A Union of the European way of life, the rule of law and equal criteria for all

  4. A credible and secure European Union. A union that is capable of ensuring security and stability in its neighborhood.
