On 23 March, the Critical Raw Materials Alliance (CRM Alliance) hosted its bi-annual CRM Day on “The Sustainable Products Initiative and its potential impact on CRM value chains”. The event discussed the now-published Regulation on Ecodesign for Sustainable Products (ESPR), which will set new eco-design requirements.
The event, opened by Rebecca Lentini, Secretary General of the CRM Alliance, featured two different sessions.
The first expert panel included MEP Iuliu Winkler, Vice-Chair of the INTA Committee, Emmanuel Katrakis, Secretary General of EuRIC, Christer Forsgren, Environmental & Technical Director Stena Recycling International, Adjunct Professor in Industrial Material Recycling at Chalmers Technical University & EuRIC Expert and Louise Bünemann, Chair of the Environmental Sustainability Working Group at Orgalim.
The second expert panel addressed included Carolina Vigo, Advisor for the Industrial Affairs Department at BusinessEurope, Kamila Slupek, Sustainability Director at Eurometaux and Cecilia Mattea, Clean Vehicles Officer at Transport and Environment.
